Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens    - Ravens Defense is not what it used to be.  Denver's defense holds Flacco to 13.  Denver by a TD at least.  

Cleveland Browns @ Chicago Bears - CHicago will bounce back from that embarrassing loss to the Bengals.
 
New York Gians  @ Philadelphia Eagles - Here is my upset of the week.  Eagles always tough at home, Giants are a paper tiger.

St. Louis Rams @ Detroit Lions - I think the Marc Bulger  has  a good match up this week and will pass for close to 300 and 2 TD's on a really inexperienced Lion's secondary.  Rams get their first win.

San Francisco 49ers @ Indianapolis Colts - I think the Colts will pull off the win, but they face a good 49'ers team that has dropped 2 straight.  This might be closer than most people think.

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets - Rex Ryan will not have a repeat of their previous match-up.  Jets will win at home.

Houston Texans @ Buffalo Bills - Texans have bben hot and cold, while the Bills have just been cold and warm.  This week the Texans are hot again.  
  
Seattle Seahawks  @ Dallas Cowboys - Cowboys look to continue their win streak and keep their season alive with a win at home.  

Oakland Raiders  @ San Diego Chargers - Will Oakland surprise everyone and have a repeat performance of their season opener?  I don't think so, the Chargers are starting to click and they must get this divisin win to have any chance of staying in the race in the AFC West.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans - Vince Young is starting so the Titans can decide if they keep him or go in a different directiion next yesr.  They have nothing to lose and Vince Young needs to prove he can be a starting QB in the NFL, not to mention Titans are desperately looking for their first win.  I think they get it.  Titans at home.

Carolina Panthers @ Arizona Cardinals - Cardinals are getting back to last season's form.  Their defense is playing exceptionally well and they will limit the Panthers rushing attack.  Cardinals at home.

Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers - I am sick of hearing about "Favre's return to Green Bay".  Vikings are the better team here and will pull off a win.

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints - Atlanta has a shot to take down the undefeated Saints.  I like this macth up becuase The Saints have not really shown they can limti an opponent in the 2nd half.  They are relying on outgunning opponents.  I like the Saints to win still.

I went 9-5 last week, record for the year so far, 63-27.  Toda is the 26th anniversary of the invasion of Grenada.  My house was also robbed this week.  Bastards took everything. Not really into it this week, so I am just going to post my picks and not say why.

San Diego at Kansas City - Chargers but Go Chiefs!  LOL.

Green Bay at Cleveland - Packers

N.Y. Jets at Oakland - Jets

Buffalo at Carolina - Panthers

Chicago at Cincinnati - Bengals

New Orleans at Miami - Saints

Atlanta at Dallas - Falcons

Arizona at N.Y. Giants - Giants

Philadelphia at Washington - Eagles

Going in to week 6 I am 65-25, a few upsets last week.  I think week 6 has a clearer picture with the exception of the Giants @ Saints game and Broncos @ Chargers.

As usual, this is not against the spread and just for fun. 


Carolina @ Tampa Bay - Let's face it, Tampa Bay has just not done very well this year.  I almost like them to upset a division opponent, but in the end I think the Panthers defense and running game prevail.  Panthers on the road.

Detroit @ Green Bay - Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford give this team a chance, but not when sidelined with an injury.  Packers at Lambeau.

St. Louis @ Jacksonville - Jaguars have been hot and cold all year.  But the Rams have just been cold.  Maurice Jones-Drew should have a big game here, fantasy owners of him are probably drooling at this match up.  Jaguars at home.

Baltimore @ Minnesota - This could be a potential upset but I think the home field advantage and Adrian Peterson are the edge here.  Vikings at home and "AP All Day" runs for 130 + and 2 TD's. 

Houston @ Cincinnati - The Bengals have proven that they can play with anyone and Houston is giving up a lot of points.  I don't see how they can shut down the Bengals high powered passing game and Cedric Benson is leading the leage in rushing yards right now.  Bengals at home.

Kansas City @ Washington - Again, I almost like the Chiefs in an upset here, but Clinton Portis is getting on track, seems to be healthy, and the Chiefs run defense has been atrocious.  Washington at home.

NY Giants @ New Orleans - While the Giants have been decimating their opponents and are #1 in most power rankings, they have had the easiest schedule of any of the undefeated teams.  Their opponents combined record so far is 6-19.  I like the Saints defense, they made mincemeat of the Jets, and Pierre Thomas and Drew Brees are a deadly combo with that defense that likes to create turnovers.  Saints at home.

Cleveland @ Pittsburgh - Steelers have some questions to answer after Detroit played them close last week.  They need to make a statement and decimate the Browns to get some respect back in the division. Steelers at home.

Philadelphia @ Oakland - Once again this game will be blacked out locally in the Bay area and I am starting to feel sorry for Raiders fans.  Their team is in turmoil and their head coach might be going to jail.  Eagles will probably cover the 14 point spread.

Arizona @ Seattle - 2 weeks ago I would give this game to Arizona, but Matt Hasselbeck is leading this team like he has been there all season.  The Cardinals are not consistent on both sides of the ball yet.  Seattle's defense will give Kurt Warner problems.   I like the Seahawks here at home.

Tennessee @ New England - The Patriots coming off a loss are looking to establish themselves as contenders in the AFC East.   They are definately motivated to win and the Titans are quickly letting their season slip away.  No upset here, Patriots at home.

Buffalo @ NY Jets - The Bills have bigger problems than TO's mouth.  Their defense is really struggling and the offense is inconsistent.  The Jets have dropped 2 in a row and Rex Ryan is not going to let that happen again.  Jets at Home.

Chicago @ Atlanta - Trying to be objective here.  While I want the Bears to lose so Denver gets a better draft pick next year, They are dangerous.  Atlanta has too many offensive weapons and their defense can shut people down and create turnovers.  Matt Ryan is going to have a big game against a weak Bears defense.  Falcons at Home.

Denver @ San Diego - The Chargers are desperate for a win.  But their defense is giving up a lot of points and the Broncos are outscoring opponents 59-7 in the 2nd half.  The only TD they have given up in the 2nd half was to the Bengals in week 1 with :38 left in the game.      Denver can control the clock and the ball by running, and Moreno will see most of the carries with Buckhalter and Jordan spelling him.  I expect Knowshon to have a big .  The Broncos have proved they can limit the passing opportunities over the middel and defending the screen lessesing Antonio Gates and Darren Sproles effectiveness.  Denver's defense has shown they make adjustments and shut opponents down in the 2nd half.  Broncos win big on the road on Monday night.

 

Week 3 was pretty good for me, I underestimated Brady and the Patriots,and everyone underestimated Fred Taylor. who was a big part of their success.  Just when I think Kubiak is getting the Texans going, their defense collapses again against a not very good Jaguars offense, but for MJD.  And the Lions surprised me.  I had originally picked them but changed my mind at athe last minute.  Should have gone with my gut.  Funny that in my pick'em league, I had New England, but in my blog, I picked the Falcons to win because of the injuries to the Patriots receiving corp. 

So I am 38-10, going into week 4.  I am torn on a few, but will try to pick'em as I see 'em.  As usual, I don't pick against the spread, and just pick straight up winners. 

Seattle  @ Indianapolis -Peyton Manning is playing with renewed fire and is tearing up defensive secondaries.  Seahawks are seriously outgunned here, Colts by a large margin.

Cincinnati @ Cleveland- The battle for Ohio is just not that interesting when it is this lopsided.  Palmer and the Bengals are on a roll right now and win easily on the road.

Baltimore @ New England- This is a tough call.  The Patriots played surprisingly well against the Falcons and Fred Taylor established enough of a running game to open up the passing game for Brady.  New Englands defense played better than I expected as well.  I almost like them to upset the Ravens, but they juts have a feeling they willlose this home game.
  
Detroit @ Chicago- I almost feel sorry for the Lions. They get their first win in a long time, and are going to get beat at home by the Bears.   Cutler is getting the passing game going.  Bears at home.
  
Oakland @  Houston- Raiders have problems.  Houston will bounce back after last weeks loss.  Texans win at home.
 
New York Giants @ Kansas City- This will be a beating that the Chiefs fans will want to quickly forget.  Giants roll right over the Chiefs easily.
 
Tennessee @ Jacksonville- Tennessee has to find a way to win this one or their playoff chances will start to quickly fade with the division quickly getting out of reach and the race for the AFC wild card will have some fierce competition this year.   The Jaguars pulled it together last week, but the Titans run defense will force the Jaguars to the air.  Titans win on the road.
 
Tampa Bay @ Washington- Quickly losing interest in either team this year.  But Jim Zorn might be introube if they lose another, and the Bucs are starting a QB I honestly never heard of before, in a hostile environment.  Redskins win at home.
 
New York Jets @ New Orleans- This will be an interesting matchup.  2 undefeated teams with one prolific offense against another tough defense.  This is a tough one to pick, but I think the Jets will lose their first game of the season at home.  The Saints defense is good enough to limit the Jets to maybe 14-17 points and  it wil not be enough to keep up with the aerial attack that Drew Brees has at his disposal.  Saints have the advantage at home.

Buffalo @ Miami- Bills get Marshaun Lynch back and strengthen their running attack.  The Dolphins are not playing well without Pennington and will lose this game.  Bills win on the road.

St. Louis @ San Francisco-  If not for a last second miracle pass from Brett Favre, the 49'ers would be 3-0 right now.  They easily beat the Rams, and maintain their division lead.  
  
Dallas @ Denver- The Cowboys come to town with a lot of media focus on Tony Romo and Wade Phillips, who might be in trouble if they lose another game.  People are calling Denver the worst 3-0 team in the league.  Then that must make the Cowboys the worst 2-1 team in the league, because  their 2 wins come against teams that are a combined 0-6.  The Cowboys running game is severely hampered and their defense is 17th aginst the run and 26th overall.  Not nearly enough to stop Denvers runnig game and the Denver Defense is playing really tough having only surrendered 16 points all season and 1 TD.  All Denver has to do is not turn the ball over and sustain a few drives and keep the Dallas Defense on the field at that high altitude.  Denver wins at home.
  
San Diego @ Pittsburgh- The Steelers are reeling a bit at 1-2 and they need Palumalu back real bad.  I think they regroup this week and find a way to contain the Chargers high octane offense and pull out a must needed win on the road.  Steelers win at home.
  
Green Bay @ Minnesota-  The media is drooling over this game like a pack of hungry dogs.  Packers want to win this one for a lot of reasons but I think they will have a tough time doing it.  Packers defense has just not been able to consistently stop the run or the pass effectively.  Vikings  win at home.
